Started his career working at PWC Audit division in New York in 1980, followed by KPMG and Interbank in Istanbul.

Regional Finance Director at Pepsi Cola International in charge of Turkey and the region between 1992/1994.

Appointed as the CEO of Turkcell in 1994 (leading mobile operator in Turkey) at its initial stages. Turkcell became a fast-growing regional company with operations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Moldova.

In year 2000, Turkcell had a successful IPO at New York Stock Exchange and Istanbul Stock Exchange simultaneously and quoted a value of USD 18 billion. Since than Turkcell is the only NYSE company from Turkey.

From 2002 onwards; restructured and grew several telecom and technology companies in Romania, Turkey and Azerbaijan acting as the CEO and/or Chairman.

Currently; mentoring and supervising technology companies and acts as an investor. Continuously takes active role in NGO’s and business associations.
